Tools I build alongside my day job, for networks running Ruckus Wi-Fi and ICX switches. Source and releases are on GitHub.

Switching

  • sFlow Analytics dashboard: estimated traffic, traffic timeline, applications and protocols

    sFlow Analytics

Traffic analytics for Ruckus ICX switches

Self-hosted sFlow collector that answers “who is saturating this uplink?” in a few clicks, with no license, no agent and no extra hardware: the switches already export sFlow.

    • Traffic Explorer and flow maps: top talkers, applications, conversations and VLANs, down to a single port.
    • Port health from interface counters: 95th percentile, discards, broadcast and multicast storms.
    • Weekly and monthly PDF and Excel reports, alerts by e-mail, Teams, Slack or syslog.
    • Switch, port and client names from Ruckus One or SmartZone, or by SNMP v2c/v3 for standalone ICX switches.
    • Updates from the web interface, HTTPS certificate management, read-only accounts.
    • Ruckus ICX
    • sFlow v5
    • VMware OVA or Linux installer
    • Go, ClickHouse, FastAPI, React

    Released 28 Oct 2026

Wi‑Fi

  • Bloodhound investigation view: one client with its identity, venue, SSID and the list of its connections, in demo mode

    Bloodhound

Client activity investigation for Ruckus Wi-Fi

Collects syslog and flow logs from Ruckus access points and enriches each entry with the client’s identity, to answer who connected, when, on which SSID, AP and venue, and to which destination.

    • Search by client, MAC, IP, SSID, AP, venue, protocol or port, with the full history of each client.
    • Identity merged into every log: hostname, OS, device type, user and guest sponsor.
    • Roles for administrators, logs managers and read-only users, with a sign-in log kept 180 days.
    • Per-client erasure with an audit trail, encrypted ZIP or CSV exports.
    • VMware appliance with a console setup assistant: no default password, secrets generated per appliance, login throttling.
    • Ruckus One
    • SmartZone
    • Unleashed
    • VMware OVA or Ubuntu/Debian
    • Graylog, OpenSearch, FastAPI, React

    Released 8 Oct 2026

  • FetchPass

Guest Wi-Fi vouchers in one click

Desktop application for a reception desk: one click creates a guest pass on the controller and prints it on a thermal printer.

    • Three configurable buttons, with durations in hours, days or weeks.
    • Thermal printing on any Windows printer (Star TSP, Epson TM), or a simulation mode.
    • Ticket header, footer and language: English, French, German or Italian.
    • Tested on Unleashed 200.19, SmartZone 7.1.1 and Ruckus One.

Smart home

  • Ruckus One for Home Assistant

Access points and Wi-Fi presence in Home Assistant

Home Assistant integration that brings the access points and Wi-Fi clients of a Ruckus One venue into Home Assistant, through the Ruckus One API and a read-only application token.

    • Per access point: online state, status, connected clients, channels with bandwidth and TX power, uplink, last boot and a PoE underpowered alert.
    • Per venue: total Wi-Fi clients and access points online.
    • Presence: one device tracker per Wi-Fi client (home or away) with access point, SSID, VLAN, band, RSSI and SNR, named after its Ruckus One alias.
    • New access points appear on their own; the API is polled every 60 s and the OAuth token renewed automatically.
    • Installed through HACS as a custom repository; the venue is picked from a list.
    • Ruckus One
    • Home Assistant
    • HACS
    • Python
    • MIT license

    Released 1 Nov 2026
